A Cheshire Catastrophe
2010 Spring Show

In its 122nd Annual Production, “A Cheshire Catastrophe”, Mask and Wig takes you down the rabbit hole, over the rainbow, and across the universe in a suitably absurd return to its historic clubhouse. At the opening we meet our protagonist Alex, a disillusioned college graduate who stumbles through a mysterious door at his graduation party and winds up a stranger in the bizarre fantasy world of Merryland (no, not Maryland). Initially only trying to find his way home, Alex becomes embroiled in a rebellion against the evil Lady Marmalade, who is hell bent on ordering and regulating the eccentric and fantastic world of Merryland. Will Alex ever find his way back home? Can Merryland be saved from the obsessive Lady Marmalade? Talking moles and Munchkaloompas and tap dancing, oh my! Break on through the looking glass and let Mask and Wig show you why there’s no place like home.

Oil Vey Conquistadora the Explorer
2009 Fall Show
The Mask and Wig Club has been performing its annual Fall Show on the University of Pennsylvania’s campus since 1981. This year’s production, “Conquistadora the Explorer” continues this tradition of a medley of comedic short sketches, musical productions, and of course a breathtaking tap at the end of the first act.

Floor Shows

Besides the customary Fall and Spring productions, The Mask and Wig Club performs "Floor Shows" for special events, corporate affairs, dinner functions, alumni events and high school audiences.

A floor show consists of several sketches or songs, usually described as "the best of The Mask and Wig Club." We draw from our large repertoire of bits and musical sketches in order to cater to all ages and tastes. Our attire is as versatile as our material, ranging from jeans to tuxedo.

Musical accompaniment ranges from one piano to our Nine Piece Band upon request.

Significant recent performances include:

  • Birthday Party for the Assistant to the University President
  • Hillel Society of the University of Pennsylvania
  • ZBT Fraternity Reunion
  • Class of 1978 - 30th Reunion
  • Class of 1958 - 50th Reunion
